First knife

I had the chance to spend a Saturday with the Jacksonville Knife Club. This was a workshop of sorts and allowed for some of use who were new to knife making to try it out. With some direction from one of the senior members, John Bowie, I was able to produce an OK looking hollow ground blade. I still have to drill holes for the pins and add the scales, but I’ll leave that for a future post.

Here is my new custom knife by Crash Blade Knives of Jacksonville.  The owner, known as Crashdive on the BuschcraftUSA forum, is a fellow bushcrafter and all around great guy.  He offered on of his earlier knives up to a drawing and my name was pulled out of the hat.  Lucky me. I put an edge on it and rounded the corners of the handle to my liking.  I also completed the sheath I was working on.  Take a look.

Crashblades Sheath (Part 2)

Here is part two of making my Crashblades knife sheath.

Crashblades sheath (Part 1)

At the last BushcraftUSA I was the lucky winner of a custom knife from one of Jacksonville’s local knife makers Crashdive of Crash Blade Knives.  A beautiful little knife that was in need of a sheath.  Here is my attempt.

Plumb Boy’s Axe Rebuild

I purchased this Plumb axe head off eBay the other day and couldn’t wait to work on it. The haft (handle) came in a few days later.  Very happy with it’s quality. Here is the progress.

This head is around 2lbs, a little under 6 1/4″ long, with almost 4″ of cutting edge.

Here is a little more information about the maker. Plumb Co.
