The Magical World of Roger Whittaker
Posted by RonAug 4 2010
Well, I had one of those nostalgic moments last night. I remembered this album that my sister and myself listened to over and over on an old fisher Price record player. (way before iPhones kiddos).
Well I got it in my head that this should be easy to track down now days. I was wrong. NO ONE sells this anymore. This album was published in 1975 and in Canada ONLY. As far as I can tell it was only on vinyl as well.
Well after a bit of tricky dealings, I got me a copy on MP3s. Sounds like they were recorded off the records but sound great.
It’s funny how something so simple triggers so many memories. I have a hard time remembering what happened yesterday, but when it comes to music it can help me recall things from 35 years ago.

Ron, I just stumbled upon your blog while searching for Roger Whittaker’s childrens album. THANK YOU for posting this! It made me so happy to listen and recall my childhood. My father passed away in 2006 and he loved Roger Whittaker. Listening to this album brought me back to my childhood and my dad. I wonder – would you mind sharing the cd with me? I can’t find any legit sites online from which to download the music, and I would so love to have this to listen in the car with my little one. Let me know if this is possible – I would be ever so grateful.

AH! Not sure why I thought of this album after so many years but yes, it is near impossible to find.
I have been transported to the red shag carpet of my bedroom floor from 30 years ago listening to this…

I had saw this site sometime ago and I do remember this album all to well
.
I own the LP for this album, and last year my best friend bought this album for me on cassette tape. I have completely remastered it and I am willing to share it with others. I use messenger programs so feel free to check out my Youtube channel and send me a message if anyone would be willing to hear this album in CD sound since I am very good with digitalizing music albums

Thank you, thank you, thank you. My family & I used to listen to this album all the time. My little sister ( who passed away yesterday due to cancer ) & I would listen to it over & over on this 8 track player we had (also before iphones kiddos ). You have triggered some wonderful memories for me & put a great big smile on my face … so thanks again.

Ron, thanks so much for posting this! Wow, this was an album that me & my brother listened to all the time when we were growing up, we had it on cassette, and I’m pretty sure I still have the original floating around here somewhere. Thanks to your page I can share the music with my 4 year old! The songs and the memories came flooding back, cheers man!
